SUMMARY:IRV Certified Competition - Austrian Open 2023
DESCRIPTION:On 25 November 2023\, the Austrian Open in gym wheel took place in Salzburg\, Austria. \nThe last IRV Certified Competition of the year brought together gymnasts from 6 IRV member countries (Austria\, Belgium\, Denmark\, Germany\, The Netherlands\, and Switzerland) in a friendly and exciting competition. \nAt the end of the competition\, Maria Kaas (BEL)\, Meret Stark (SUI)\, Jamal Kiel (GER) and Johannes Stolper (GER) took home the individual gold medals for their respective categories\, while the teams from Belgium and Switzerland won the team competitions. \nIRV President Henning Henningsen\, who opened the Austrian Open together with Rhönrad Austria President Hans Pichler\, also used the occasion to officially hand over the key for the 2024 World Championships in Almere (NED) to representatives from the Dutch Organising Committee. \nThe IRV would like to congratulate all gymnasts for their achievements\, as well as the judges who judged all the routines in accordance with the new IRV Code of Points 2023+. \n2023 Austrian Open – Results \nPhotos by Bart Treuren \nTV coverage by ORF \nThe Austrian Open 2023 is an IRV Certified Competition

DESCRIPTION:140 Competitors at the Danish Open 2023Edgar Claussen\, head of Wheel Gymnastics at TS Sonderburg\, was able to take a deep breath on Saturday after a few hectic days – and smile with satisfaction. The Danish Open 2023 with Wheel Gymnastics athletes from seven nations (Switzerland\, Austria\, Belgium\, the Netherlands\, Germany\, Norway and Denmark) did not have to be canceled\, as had been feared. This time the 10th tournament did not take place in Sonderburg (Sønderborg)\, but at Ahlmannsparken in Gravenstein. \nThe Ahlmannsparken is the same size as the Humlehøjhalle\, but due to the large increase in the number of participants\, it became very cramped on the competition lanes and in the stands. From 10 a.m. on Saturday\, everything went perfectly. “I’m happy that everything worked out after all\,” said Edgar Claussen. \nGreat atmosphere\n“It was a great atmosphere with lots of participants. It’s something special\, because everyone from the youngest to the seniors can take part in this event and marvel at the great performances of the top gymnasts. But what is always special is the meeting of the entire “Rhönrad family”. Many athletes and coaches are always happy to see other athletes from other cities and/or nations. This time\, 140 people took part\,” says Edgar Claussen. The 2022 code of points will be valid in all 3 disciplines\, but no composition will be judged in straight-line this year\, since some countries have already moved to the new regulations and some countries are still using the 2022 regulations.\n\nAs in previous years\, for the Eupen Pokal on Sunday\, 2 straight-line routines will be performed in each category. These 2 straight-line routines can be the same or different. These courses provide detailed information on the Code of Points and Competition Rules. Being back at the World Championships means meeting friends from all over the world and competing for medals and titles again. This is what has kept us motivated during the last two years of uncertainty. \nWheel Gymnastics in Denmark has been a success story for a long time. Since the international training camp in Ringsted in 2008\, the development of our sport in Denmark has flourished. Three Danish clubs currently take part in competitions all over Europe\, and participants from Denmark have competed at several World Championships during the last fourteen years. \nWith the 2022 World Championships in Sonderburg\, we can add one more host country to the list of IRV competitions. Edgar Claussen and his team from the „Deutscher Jugendverband für Nordschleswig“ have invested an enormous amount of time and energy in the organization of the event. DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce another online competition for the end of this year: \nIRV Junior & Senior\nInternational Individual Online All Around Competition\nin Gym Wheel\nLimited places available\n– first come first served –\nRegistration opens 15 August / 08:00 CESTThe competition is open to gymnasts from across the international gym wheel community and will be organised according to the “rules” of the established online competition format. Three competition rounds will be held in September\, October and November. \nSEPTEMBER: SPIRAL \nVideo submission: 1-24 September \nJudging: from 2/3 October \nOCTOBER: STRAIGHT-LINE \nVideo submission: 1-24 October \nJudging: from 30/31 October \nNOVEMBER: VAULT \nVideo submission: 1-24 November \nJudging: from 27/28 November \nIMPORTANT: There are some significant differences compared to the online competitions held so far: \n\nThe competition is open for maximum 30 junior gymnasts and maximum 30 senior gymnasts.\nBoth categories are open for female AND male gymnasts.\nAll gymnasts MUST compete in all three disciplines: spiral\, straight-line and vault.\nAn online registration portal (Eventbrite) will open on 15 August / 08:00 CEST (Central European Summer Time) through which all starting places must be “booked”.\nThe portal will remain open for two weeks or until all places have been taken.\nPlaces will be allocated on a “first come first served” basis.\nRegistration is personal (i.e. each gymnast should register him- or herself with a personal email address).\nOnly one person can register at a time.\nThe competition starts in September with the first discipline\, followed by the other two disciplines in October and November.\nThe sum of results from all three disciplines will determine the winners of the All Around Junior & Senior categories.\n\nSUBMISSION TIMETABLE \nVideos must be recorded and submitted during the specified submission period for each discipline (see above). \nPlease record the calendar app of a smart phone to show the date before the routine starts. \nThe video must be submitted (uploaded) on or before the 24th of each month. Late submission is not permitted.\n \nGymnasts whose videos do not pass the initial quality control will be given 7 days to submit a new recording of better quality. \nIf an improved quality video is not received\, the routine will be judged as a “guest” competitor and will not be included as part of the main competition. \nAll results will be published and a virtual award ceremony will take place in mid-December (date to be decided). \nTECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS \nVideos should be filmed from a fixed position (position of the Head Judge). Film in landscape format (16:9) and make sure that any light source is behind the camera. \nVideo resolution must be HD (1280 x 720 pixels) or full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels). NO zoom\, filters\, cutting or editing. The gymnast and wheel must be visible and in focus throughout the recording. \nDo not edit the video – remember Fair Play – every competitor should have an equal chance. \nSubmit a link to your video between the 1st and 24th of each month via the submission form sent to you by email. \nCompetition areas for straight-line and spiral do not have to be marked with tape. The 90 cm on the landing mat for vault should be marked with tape. \nVault videos should demonstrate the correct wheel size. \n\nCall for JudgesAs this format will need a lot of judges\, we would appreciate it if participating countries/clubs could register judges willing to participate in one of the six judging panels (two per category per month). SUMMARY:IRV Online Competition: April 2021 (Cyr Artistic Programme)
DESCRIPTION:Create a video of your routine\nAsk one of your team mates to record a video of your routine. Your coach can be next to you\, but make sure the situation is almost like at a competition. We have summarised some requirements and tips for video recording that will help us to ensure a fair competition and help our judges to evaluate the routine. \nRename video and upload to cloud storage\nIn order to identify the right video for the gymnast\, please rename your video according to following structure: \nfirstname_lastname_country.mov (or) .mp4  \nYou can either upload your video to Online Storage Platforms like Dropbox\, Google\, iCloud and share a link with us\, or you upload your video to the IRV Media Cloud Storage \nSubmit your routine video\n\nYou can submit a video at any time during the competition period. Use the button below to submit your video and be part of the IRV Online Competition. For specific competitions the organizing committee might have additional rules and procedures to ensure a smooth competition. \nSubmit videoOnline Judging Session \nA small group of judges will be invited to evaluate the submitted videos every month. Judging will be organised by one of the IRV experts and the routines will be judged in an online judging session so that a score can be calculated immediately and questions can be addressed. \nUse the button below to register your interest as a potential online judge. \nWANT TO JUDGE?Feedback by Academy Coaches\nWe realized that evaluating routines and taking notes for feedback at the same time is very time consuming. We therefore decided to separate the feedback from judges with dedicated feedback from our academy coaches\, which can be requested during the Online Competition registration process from now on. \nRanking\, Score & Feedback\nWe will not award medals to the participants in IRV Online Competitions\, but we will share feedback and scores with the gymnasts\, which they can use to improve their routines for future on-site competitions.
