Kristina Krohn appointed as new IRV General Secretary

The IRV is happy to announce that the dedicated wheel gymnastics enthusiast Kristina Krohn will take over the role of IRV General Secretary from 1 February 2025.

Kristina started wheel gymnastics 22 years ago and is the competition officer for Hamburg in the German Wheel Gymnastics Federation. The 31-year-old athlete is also still competing at a recreational level.

During the 2022 IRV World Championships in Sønderburg / Denmark, Kristina assisted in the IRV competition office and has become increasingly involved with the IRV since then. “I do wheel gymnastics with all my heart”, says Kristina, who is also a coach at her Hamburg club. The trained electrician and head of manufacturing engineering at an airplane company can be found in the gym five times a week.

Kristina is looking forward to connecting with the international wheel gymnastics community on an even more regular basis and to facilitate communication among all member countries and the IRV. “Wheel gymnastics is more than a sport for me”, says Kristina, “it’s a lifestyle”.

The IRV invites all member countries to support Kristina as she transitions into her new role. Kristina will take over from Cheyenne Rechsteiner, who will continue contributing to IRV activities in other areas. IRV President Matthias Reich and the IRV Executive Board express their sincere thanks to Cheyenne for her committed work and valuable input to the development of our sport. They also look forward to integrating Kristina into the daily tasks of an international federation run by a dedicated team of volunteers – welcome on board Kristina!
