Artistic Programme

2022 IRV CYR Artistic Programme Regulations Version 4_1a

[Current Version 4.1a – published January 2022]
[Previous Version 4.1 – published December 2019]

  • Changes:
    – The discretionary 0.2 difficulty bonus proposed in 2019 will not be implemented and has been removed from the document.
    – Previously, Big Spiral skills were not permitted in element combinations. In the updated regulations, it has been decided that D or E difficulty Big Spiral skills are now permitted in element combinations. See the Difficulty Catalogue for more details.

  • Clarifications:
    – A successfully performed element combination consisting of skills from two different skill categories “x” and “y” will fulfil three composition requirements; 1) required element combination, 2) skill category “x”, 3) skill category “y”
    – Composition requirements cannot be fulfilled by skills whose difficulty is not counted (either because they are not among the 10 skills with the highest difficulty or because they are not performed in accordance with the pocket card).
[DIFFICULTY not counted = NO COMPOSITION]

This updated version of the Cyr artistic programme regulations contains minor edits to bring it up-to-date for use in 2022.

Difficulty Catalogue

2021 IRV CYR Difficulty Catalogue Version 4_1a

[Current Version 4.1a – published October 2021 – updated to “clean” version Jan 2022]
[Previous Version 4.1 – published July 2021]
[Previous Version 4.0 – published October 2019]

Please note:

– This is a “clean” version of the updated Cyr Difficulty Catalogue published in October 2021 (edited to bring it up-to-date for use in 2022)

– See Page 29 for the following NEW update:

Previously, Big Spiral skills were not permitted in element combinations.

It is now permitted to use D or E difficulty Big Spiral skills in element combinations.

Combinations involving a big spiral skill together with a skill from a different category will have the following format: D or E difficulty BIG SPIRAL skill + C, D or E skill from a different category. This is based on the general rule that A/B skills cannot be combined with C/D/E skills in element combinations.

In collaboration with technical experts, the IRV has developed a Cyr Wheel ONLINE Difficulty Database that includes all Cyr Wheel Skills. Many of the skills are also supplemented by videos. We are still working on the design of this database, but the skills are up-to-date as per January 2022.
