About the IRV
The IRV (International Wheel Gymnastics Federation) is the international representative body for the sport of wheel gymnastics.
The IRV organises the Individual and Team World Championships and the IRV Academy, aiming to offer innovative platforms and opportunities to spread wheel gymnastics across the globe. It is also responsible for the IRV Code of Points and certification of international judges. The IRV is registered in Switzerland and has an Executive Board and Technical Commission comprising representatives from different countries who work on a voluntary basis.
There are two forms of competitive wheel gymnastics: Gym Wheel (a wheel with two rims, rungs and handles) and Cyr Wheel (a wheel with only one rim and no handles). Gym Wheel has three competitive disciplines: straight-line, spiral and vault, while Cyr Wheel competitions consist of a technical and an artistic programme. Both forms of wheel gymnastics captivate audiences with their innovative acrobatics and artistic expression in a rolling apparatus.
IRV General Assembly
The IRV General Assembly is the highest organ of the IRV and is responsible for electing the IRV President and members of the Executive Board. The General Assembly is held every two years and is attended by delegates from the IRV member federations, usually in conjunction with the Individual World Championships.
IRV Administration
The IRV Administration comprises the IRV Executive Board and Technical Commission. The Executive Board is responsible for carrying out IRV business in line with the Mission Statement and the decisions of the General Assembly. It is assisted in its work by the IRV Technical Commission.
