First German Open will take place in Bielefeld on 28 February 2026
The IRV is happy to announce that with Germany, a fourth member country will organise an IRV Certified Competition. In addition to the open competitions in Austria, Belgium and Denmark, international elite athletes will now have yet another option to to gain high-level competitive experience.
The long-standing German club, TSVE Bielefeld, will host the first ever German Open on 28 February 2026. The club has a solid wheel gymnastics section with more than 60 wheel gymnasts training regularly in Bielefeld and competing mainly in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Bielefeld is located in central Germany and easily reachable by train. The competition will take place in the modern Almhalle in Stapenhorststraße 102, 33615 Bielefeld, Germany. The number of entries is limited to 125 participants – including both Gym and Cyr Wheel gymnasts. Starting places will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received (first come, first served). If there are more than 15 entries from one club, the organisers reserve the right to cancel some starting places in order to enable as many clubs as possible to take part.
With this 4th IRV Certified Competition in Wheel Gymnastics, wheel gymnasts from around the world now have the offer of two international competitions in each season. In the spring, there is the choice between the German and the Belgium Open (or both), whereas the Danish and Austrian Open competitions take place towards the end of the year.
The IRV is very happy about this newest addition to the international wheel gymnastics calendar.
Registration will open on 1 November 2025 (see link to invitation below)
